Ordering from Helga's is simple! Select your bird (or birds) and call (956) 458-3837 or drop us an email at parrothatch@reagan.com. All birds are subject to prior sale, so place your order early. Special orders accepted; ask about wholesale pricing on quantities for bird dealers.

New Buyer's Support
Raising your new pet bird will be a joy for many years to come! Birds are in general very hardy pets, given the proper environment and nutrition. With the same attention you would give any other member of your family, your bird will be your faithful companion for many years to come.

Should you have difficulty getting started, new buyers may call any time within reasonable hours (Central Standard Time) to get free information about bird care, feeding of unweaned babies, or to receive tips on how to wean and care for their bird. Information on recommended food and formulas for babies will also be supplied to new buyers. Click here for help in hand-feeding baby birds.

Bird History
All our birds are domestic close banded, hand-reared at our aviary with tender loving care (with the exception of our imported breeder birds). Computerized Records are kept of all our birds. Bill of sale, Date of Birth, parent location, bird band ID number and sex (if available) will be furnished free of charge. If sexing by DNA is requested the charge will be $35.00, and a certificate of DNA will be furnished.

Payment
Helga's accepts the following types of payment: Bank or Wire transfer, Money Order or Cash. Orders paid by personal check will delay shipment until check has cleared. Please allow ten days for check to clear your bank. Sorry, no credit card purchases. References can be furnished if required.

Shipping
Birds may be picked up at our aviary facility in south Texas, or shipped directly to you. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and health certificates as follows:

$40 per bird - Health Certificate ($15 for each additional bird; $80 maximum)
$25 - crate or pet taxi ($80 multiple space container if necessary)

Shipping is COD out of Miller International Airport, McAllen, Texas. Charges will vary according to distance and method of shipment. All Counter to Counter charges must be prepaid to seller. Cargo shipped COD.

$160 (minimum) American Airlines Cargo
$170 - $235 American Airlines Counter to Counter
$160 (minimum) Continental Airlines Cargo
$160 (minimum + depending on weight) Continental Counter to Counter
Declared Value is approximately $1.00 per $100 (highly recommended)

Helga's will ship birds as soon as possible after receipt of payment. In most cases, this means within two days after payment is received, weather permitting. We pride ourselves in shipping as quickly as possible.

For sales and shipping in state of Texas, please add 6.25% sales tax.

International Orders
International Shipping. Helga's can ship to most foreign countries. Buyer is responsible for all costs including shipping, permits, health certificates, holding of bird, etc. Write us for more information on estimates for particular foreign countries.

Warranty
Birds are shipped with a veterinarian Health Certificate, and come with a guarantee of live arrival at destination. Once birds leave our care, we can no longer be held responsible. We will replace birds found to have a major birth defect or unforeseen not detectable defect or deformity resulting in birds' death.
