Helga's Parrot HatchSome helpful articles about hand-feeding your new baby birds

  • HAND-FEEDING BIRDS FROM CONURE TO MACAW

  • HAND-FEEDING & HOUSING OF OLDER BABIES

  • HAND-FEEDING FROM DAY ONE
As to hand-feeding day one babies, I want to say this: Don't! It is not for greenhorns or beginners. This is a job best left to experienced breeders.

It is my hope that these articles will help some non-experienced Hand feeders and save some baby birds' lives. After all, the baby bird is the one that pays the ultimate Price if we fail.

As a footnote to all buyers: Do not buy bargain birds; buy birds from established breeders, not fly-by-nights. Buy from a breeder that will be there for you when you need their help and advice. Remember that raising a baby bird is like bringing home an infant. It requires the same commitment as raising a human baby. It also requires dependable support from the baby bird's breeder. The breeder must be there for you with help and advice as the baby gets bigger and ready to wean. If you cannot count on the breeder - DO NOT BUY!

Find the right breeder, the one that will assist you along the way. NEVER impulse buy - buying a baby bird is a lifetime commitment.
