Internships (posted May 2, 2008) Sea Turtle, Inc. offers internships to college students studying biology or an environmental field. We offer wages and housing. Students participate in all three missions of the organization. They will learn medical treatment, triaging, calculating dosages, and tagging under our rehabilitation mission. They will be required to give short educational tours to the public. They will be conducting beach patrols to look for nesting turtles and their tracks for the protection of nests under our conservation program. Interns will travel to Mexico to the largest nesting beach for the Kemp's ridley sea turtle to train. Interested students must submit a letter of interest and resume by March 1st for summer consideration. They must be US citizens and 18 years old or older. They must have a current driver's license. Sea Turtle, Inc. hires six or seven interns each summer and encourages students to apply earlier than March 1st. Please direct inquiries and applications to: Jeff George, Curator ============ Nesting season for 2008 begins (posted April 15, 2008) Beach patrols on South Padre Island and Boca Chica beaches have begun.
